Sponsored by the Office of Health Sciences Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, this event gives early researchers an opportunity to present their work and expand their scientific professional skill set. The term “disparities” applies to differences in health status in any referenced population compared to the comparable majority referenced population.
We expect to see work in disparities based upon race or ethnicity, gender, disability, sexual orientation, age, and other parameters. Posters will also be accepted for community-oriented initiatives designed to address health disparities.
SUBMITTING AN ABSTRACT FOR 2023
Abstract submitters must:
- Be University of Pittsburgh undergraduate, graduate, first professional students, or postdoctoral trainees in the biomedical and behavioral sciences, including psychology and social work.
- Have conducted research in a health sciences or health-related discipline (qualitative, quantitative, or laboratory based) and developed results.
Cash prizes will be awarded in five categories: Bachelors | Masters | Doctoral | Postdoctoral | First Professional
Prizes are awarded for the work judged to be the best or to have the greatest potential for impact.
