Dr. Camara Jones, MD, MPH, PhD to Talk Racism and Health at Pitt

The Health Sciences Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team is proud to welcome and learn from Dr. Camara P. Jones, MD, MPH, PhD on October 11, 2022 from 12:30 pm to 2 pm. This virtual event is open to the public, and sponsored through the Health Sciences Social Justice Fellowship. The monthly Social Justice Fellowship Seminar Series brings experts together to engage in dialogue and build skills connected to achieving health equity.
"Camara's allegories on 'race' and racism illuminate topics that are otherwise difficult for many people across the globe to understand or discuss. Recognizing that racism saps the strength of the whole society through the waste of human resources, she aims to inspire and equip all communities to engage in sustained anti-racism work with three tasks: Name racism. Ask 'How is racism operating here?' Organize and strategize to act."

Update: The Dr. Camara Jones' conversation was complex and beautiful. The session can be viewed on the HSDEI Youtube page.
