Velma P. Scantlebury, MD, Associate Chief of Transplant Surgery for the Christiana Care Health System, is renown as the first female African-American transplant surgeon in the United States.  Dr. Scantlebury details her journey in her new book, "Beyond Every Wall".  Dr. Scantlebury's talk is hosted the Office of Health Sciences Diversity.  Representatives of the Center for Organ Recovery and Education (CORE) will also be on hand.  See flyer     Please click the link in the flyer to reserve your seat.  

Location and Address

UPMC Conference Center, Scaife Hall, room 1101, located on the 11th floor.  Enter on Terrace Street and take elevator to the 11th floor.  

Directions and Parking Information

Parking is available in the BSTWR garage, enter on Terrace Street across from Salk Hall.  There is also on street parking on DeSoto Street.  Please note that construction is taking place at Scaife Hall on the upper part of Lothrop Street at the corner of Terrace Street.  Parking and access is restricted on that side only.
